What is REP all about?

The REP diagram above is a way of picturing our spiritual journey:

  • In the Receive stage, people are primarily passive and curious, exploring who God is and what following Jesus means.  They explore Christianity and begin to connect with others through worship services and other larger-group ministries.
  • People begin to Engage when their curiosity brings about a deeper hunger for God and a willingness to learn and contribute.  Their desire to know God better and connect with others leads them to begin attending smaller groups and to give back through ministry involvement. They become active participants rather than merely interested observers, and their relationship with God becomes an important part of their life. They respond to outreach opportunities that arise with friends and neighbors, and invite people to church planned events.
  • Moving into the Pursue stage requires that people take increasing responsibility and initiative for their own spiritual development.  They practice spiritual disciplines on their own, receive mentoring and mentor others, are accountable and hold others accountable.  They create opportunities to develop relationships with people who don’t know Christ, and share their faith as the Spirit prompts them. Their relationship with God is the core of their life, underlying their decisions and guiding their steps.
